Join us in supporting Dr. Garnet Cummings

We would like to congratulate Dr. Garnet Cummings, the 2019 recipient of the Patrick Hirschi Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Garnet Cummings has devoted his professional career to assisting others. He has over 22 years of experience as an emergency doctor, including his experience heading STARS in Edmonton. He was the Chief of Emergency at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and Director of Trauma.

In 1998, Dr. Cummings suffered a devastating car crash that left him with a traumatic brain injury, knee, and two hip replacements and ended his career as an emergency doctor. Dr. Cummings has continued his journey of helping others and became the Executive Director at Brain Care Centre in 2011.

For over 7 years, Dr. Cummings was instrumental in creating fundraising strategies and advocating for acquired brain injury survivors and brain safety. Dr. Cummings retired as Brain Care Centre’s Executive Director in 2018, and now sits on Brain Care Centre’s Board of Directors to continue his journey in advocating for individuals with acquired brain injuries.

If you feel that Dr. Cummings has been a support, advocate, or resource through your journey working with Brain Care Centre, please consider purchasing tickets to our upcoming Brain Injury Awareness Month Kick-off Breakfast on June 6, 2019 to see him recognized for his years of dedication to supporting those living with acquired traumatic brain injury:
